COUNSELLING AND PSYCHO-PEDAGOGICAL DEPT.
Colegio Internacional Ausiàs March has a Psycho-pedagogical and Counselling Department comprised of three specialists who work jointly with teachers, tutors, and the families to monitor students’ well-being.
In Early Education, they collaborate with tutors to detect potential learning problems early-on, establishing the appropriate measures for their correction and monitoring.
In Primary Education, they actively participate in the implementation of the Study Techniques programmes, monitoring the students’ social interactions (through sociograms, group dynamics sessions, social skills programmes, etc.), personal family orientation, learning problem detection, assessment of cases that need educational intervention (reinforcement, speech therapy, adaptations, etc.) They also carry out psycho-pedagogical tests and reports issued by the school at the end of each cycle.
In Secondary and Baccalaureate, they collaborate with tutors and families in evaluating and monitoring students with any type of problem. They are responsible for the above mentioned tests and collaborate with tutors in terms of students’ vocational orientation through vocational guidance tests, report preparation and individual orientation to any student who requests it.
The Department is responsible for the “Parent Information Programme on topics of interest” that is held quarterly across the whole school, and also collaborates with the Departments of Education and Health in the prevention programmes that are launched every year.
